Calibre is partnering with a multinational firm to appoint a Principal Transport Planner for their Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering teams in their Queensland office. It is a highly respected consultancy that specialise in engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services.
About
Primary responsibilities
In the role of Principal Transport Planner, you will be responsible for:
Support the Transport Planning Lead to develop and grow the transport planning discipline, including project delivery, team development and business development
Manage and provide technical leadership for feasibility studies, options analyses, business cases and route planning projects, in conjunction with technical professionals and other disciplines
Participate in transport planning and concept design development work sessions in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
Establish, develop and maintain client relationships and coordinate marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
Present technical papers on projects and technical specialties
Provide technical direction to other relevant professionals and undertake coaching and mentoring
Prepare expressions of interest and tender submissions, and undertake transport planning business development
Perform other duties as needed
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or equivalent professional registration
Eligible for Chartered membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent professional membership
Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, predominantly in transport planning
Significant experience in analysis and design of transport related studies and projects
Multi-modal and/or roads focused technical experience
Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver the client’s terms of reference

Preferred qualifications
Preferred - Project management experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects in delivering within project-based budgets and timelines
Preferred – Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead small technical project and/or organisational teams
