Overview
The role will appeal to someone who is a capable and motivated project manager with a keen interest in working with state government agencies like Landcom, DPIE and with NGO’s on how to optimise the development of greenfield urban development projects and urban renewal precincts. Some great examples of the project types include Infrastructure, Sequencing and Funding, Infrastructure Master Planning Land Development and Urban Renewal Work. They have made valuable contributions to major projects including, the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, Greater Penrith to Eastern Creek and the Marsden Park North & Western Schofields Rezoning Strategy.

Ideally had some experience (or a genuine interest and understanding) in urban development, from the early planning stages to timelines and how investment is prioritised to maximise the benefit for impacted communities.
Some project management experience, relevant to the development and delivery of complex projects for state government and private developer clients.
Strong interpersonal skills. It is important for you to have excellent communication skills and enjoy engaging and collaborating with others. You will be expected to consult with clients and various stakeholders and assist in managing a multi-disciplinary team.
The ability to be adaptable and flexible when approaching projects and when working as a team. When working with IDC you will be given the opportunity for new experiences and the exposure into new areas of work, allowing you to continually develop new skills. This is not a role where you will be doing the same things year in, year out.

What skills are less relevant
Project Management is a broad brush term. This role is to project manage urban developments in the development phase. This means core it is less about PM skills like Primavera and P6. The work is also largely civil engineering orientated so is less about urban design/planning and architecture.
