An opportunity to work as a Senior Transport Planner for one of the few independent, employee-owned multidisciplinary consultancies remaining in the transport industry.

About

Role Overview

You will be working with a mature team of traffic engineer and transport professionals based in the CBD office, lead by a genuinely employee-focused, manager who has extensive experience in the transport planning and modelling fields. This will be a great role for someone who enjoys leading and delivering transport planning projects for a variety of clients and is keen to take on more of a team leadership role where they can contribute to the growth and direction of the services offered to end clients.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading the delivery of projects including project management, technical analysis, client and stakeholder engagement, presenting project outcomes and report writing

  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff in project delivery

  • Supporting the Principal in business development and developing relationships with clients

  • Providing input to project bid development and writing of proposals

  • Developing internal networks across business lines to help deliver integrated and innovative solutions to clients


Experience and Skills Required:

  • A strong and extensive track record of experience in delivering transport advisory services to clients in New South Wales. You’ll have demonstrated the ability to be flexible and adaptable, able to lead a range of projects types in your particular specialism and also more broadly.

  • The ability and interest in building effective networks of contacts inside and outside of the organisation. Your experience will have seen you working with or for transport agencies (TfNSW), Govt depts (e.g. GSC, DPIE, INSW) and/or local Councils and have a network of contacts within these organisations.

  • Experience leading meetings with clients and stakeholders.

  • Strong verbal and written communication. You’ll be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences; from presenting technical work to clients to communicating and debating ideas with a diverse range of stakeholders to instructing and coaching junior team members.

  • A genuine interest in nurturing and developing others.
